The Sophisticated Cats are a 1950s Rhythm ’n’ Blues and Rock ’n’ Roll band founded in 2023 by Damien Daigneau (piano, vocals).

He is joined by Jean-Philippe Soler (double bass), Joris Lucchèse (drums), and Luc Allières (guitar) — four passionate musicians with extensive experience both on stage and in the studio.

Initially focused mainly on covers of great Rhythm ’n’ Blues and Rock ’n’ Roll classics, the band’s repertoire has gradually expanded to include original compositions, while always maintaining an infectious energy firmly geared towards dancing. Every show is designed to keep the dance floor moving and offer audiences an authentic and festive experience. This approach quickly established the Sophisticated Cats as one of the most popular bands among dancers and specialist clubs throughout France.

At the helm of the project, Damien Daigneau has been performing on the international Rock ’n’ Roll and Blues scene for nearly twenty years. After founding and leading several acclaimed bands, including Be Yell Blues, Flyin’ Muffins and The Money Makers, he has also performed alongside many major figures in the genre, including Imelda May, Robert Gordon (on his final European tour), Jim Murray (The Imperials), The Sweet Inspirations, Leroy Jones, Darrel Higham, The Velvet Candles, Alexis Evans, Bernard Sellam, Awek, Matt Wanderscheid, and many others.

For more than ten years, he has also performed with The Elvis Concert, one of the world’s most prestigious tributes to Elvis Presley, alongside Dwight Icenhower, touring some of Europe’s leading stages. He is also a member of the internationally renowned Irish music band Doolin’, known for its extensive tours around the world.

Despite being formed only recently, the band has already built an impressive track record, with numerous live performances and two albums released to date: Warm Up (2024) and Live aux Jardins (2026). Driven by growing momentum and an enthusiastic response from audiences, the Sophisticated Cats continue to develop their career with KBKC-Artistes, a production company based in Lot-et-Garonne, France, with many more shows already scheduled for the seasons ahead.
